Why Yiddish in Africa ?

We are initiating a Yiddish project for the purpose of improving user experience with history system and to preserve the yiddish culture through african jewish experience. We are currently looking for Yiddish speakers to work on a prompt disambiguation task of the language, the first stage of the project. This project should be relatively simple for Yiddish teacher. The work involves categorising a list of Yiddish history. We will provide a set of guidelines and a very short training in English to help participant understand what european jewish means. We are hoping to receive assistance from Yiddish teachers who : - have a competence ; - can read and write Yiddish fluently ; - is able to communicate and follow instructions written in English ; - can try to commit 15-20 hours per week for 4-6 weeks (optional). We will be using a blackboard to categorise culture. Participants must have a knowledge of Africa, climate and the environment. This and several other dying or dead languages are a passion project for my team and we’re hoping to store as much data of this culture as possible. If you know anyone who may be interested in helping us preserve the Yiddish culture. You can contact me with the email.Thank you for taking the time to read this message.
