Unesco : Netanyahu was outraged.

On the occasion of a meeting with the French foreign minister, Israeli Prime Minister questioned the "impartiality" of the French initiative to revive peace efforts with the Palestinians.
According to the Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, France would have chosen sides between Israel and the Palestinian Territories. Sunday, May 15, it questioned the "impartiality" of the French initiative to revive peace efforts with the Palestinians, during a meeting with the head of French diplomacy, Jean-Marc Ayrault.
The French minister had come to submit in person the French proposed international peace conference, which strongly opposes the Israeli government.
"I said [to Jean-Marc Ayrault] that the scandalous decision of Unesco with the support of France and which does not recognize the millennium link between the Jewish people and the Temple Mount casts a shadow on the impartiality of the forum that France is trying to meet, "said Netanyahu.
He was referring to the vote by France in April of Unesco decision on the Palestinian cultural heritage and East Jerusalem, Palestinian part of Jerusalem occupied and annexed by Israel.
"The unfortunate and hurtful formulations"
Benjamin Netanyahu was outraged that the text adopted by France to Unesco never refers to the mosque as "Temple Mount", the name under which Jews revere the place, or cites the wall Wailing between quotation marks.
For his part, Jean-Marc Ayrault has worked with Benjamin Netanyahu to "dispel misunderstandings", said his entourage.
"The unfortunate and hurtful formulations, which could and should be avoided, created misunderstandings. France regret," he assured the Israeli Prime Minister, according to his entourage. "The position of France on Jerusalem has not changed : Jerusalem is a key city for three religions and belongs to all believers, Jews, Christians and Muslims."
