I really enjoy South African Jews Against Apartheid alerts that you send out.
Regarding the latest one, I feel obliged to point out to you that the orthodox Jewish community in SA was stunningly silent during the apartheid era. Most of the Jews that you mention in the article were either unaffiliated or were reform Jews. Chabad in particular was silent bearing in mind how outspoken they are in other areas - I guess that’s a good thing because if people were to know and hear about the racist comments of the Lubavitcher rebbe and the terribly racist writings in the Tanya we Jews would be in deep trouble. It was of course as a direct result of the rebbe that the only anti-Semitic race riots in the history of the U.S. took place.
